PGA Tour Records FedExCup Announces Big Increase in Prize Funds and Money Bonuses on Schedule

The PGA Tour has announced a significant increase in prize funds and money bonuses as part of a record-breaking 2021-22 FedExCup schedule.

PGA Tour Commissioner J Monahan outlined the changes in a memo for players on Monday, with the average tournament prize purse rising from $ 8m to $ 9.1m after numerous significant increases.
The first two FedExCup playoffs - the FedEx St. Jude Championship and the BMW Championship - will increase their purses from $ 5m to $ 15m, while the top 30 competitors in the Season-Ending Tour Championship will now play for 18 million for the first prize.

The Players' Championship has increased its prize money to $ 20 million, making it one of the richest golf tournaments in the world, with 12 million to play for Genesis Invitational, Arnold Palmer Invitational and Memorial Tournament.

"The PGA Tour is stronger than ever in our history, and the game of golf has gained unprecedented momentum," Monahan said. "At any point in our existence we have to grow rapidly over the next 10 years, and we remain laser-focused in strengthening our core products and investing in our members."
